About the event

Vaidya Nami has recently done a deep dive into 'Sattvavajaya Chikitsa' of Ayurveda which addresses the spiritual-cognitive roots of disease to address transcultural well-being. and is excited to share it with us. Assessment of the state of mind and addressing treatment that is appropriate for the client are the keys to client compliance and success.  By employing the methods of Sattvavajaya Chikitsa, you will see better results in your clients and more success in your practice!

Vaidya-Scientist Nami, a BAMS, MD(Ayu), VSF, is one of the most extensively India-trained Ayurveda clinicians (vaidyas) in the US, having practiced for nearly two decades. She is trained in Ayurveda and modern medicine both of which she draws from to offer sustainable health transformations.

Widely published, she teaches at top Ayurveda schools in the U.S., and was the Chair of the Education Committee on the CAAM Board until recently. She is a consultant for creating lateral health systems, specializing in chronic disease management.  Empathetic, she shares her insights with ease, wit, and compassion.

Personally, she enjoys being a mom, respects simplicity with due thought to details, loves being in nature, practicing yoga, exploring new cuisines and dreaming of creating a safe, kind world for all.

Read more about her background and journey, including the evolution of her clinical integrative approach and future vision of health on her website at https://ayu.care/pages/about-me-my-journey-training-and-vision. She has recently started a substack publication called 'In Pursuit of Well-Being' and welcome you to join her there.Sattvavajaya Chikitsa is a new topic to many people, it is sometimes referred to as "Ayurvedic Psychotherapy."

More from a recent LinkedIn post by Vaidya Nami on this topic:

"Over the last few decades, contemporary Ayurvedic Medicine and pedagogies have primarily focused on the therapeutic prowess of medicinal plants and diets, and therapies.

These have been the domain of Yuktivyapasharaya Chikitsa - where the focus is on the using intelligence of a vaidya to make a prescriptive input to mitigate suffering.

In a rapidly changing world where access to medicines and a well-trained vaidyas' intelligence is not readily available, there is another preventative and therapeutic treatment strategy to deploy.   Poignantly Called Sattvavajaya Chikitsa, it translates into treatment to 'win over the mind'. Note, it is not mindfulness, it's not mind control. It's 'Winning' over!
